How PSA Card Grading Works with SlabLab

Step-by-Step Process

  1. Select your SlabLab and PSA services: Choose your Slablab prep service level and how quickly you want your cards to be graded by PSA. You are responsible for setting up shipping to get your cards to us. Steps to ship your cards to us will be provided in your order confirmation email.
  2. Package your cards: Follow our packaging guide and include your Order # inside the box.
  3. Intake & prep: We receive your cards, inspect, and prepare for PSA according to the prep service that you have selected.
  4. We submit to PSA: Your cards head to PSA under your chosen PSA grading level.
  5. Invoice: When we have been billed for your PSA grades, we invoice you for the exact PSA fee and shipping fee. We do not add fees on top of what PSA charges.
  6. We ship back your graded PSA slabs: You receive your graded cards at the shipping address provided during checkout.

Payment Timing

Today: Only our grading prep service fee and insurance, if selected, are due upon checkout.

After PSA grades: We send an invoice for the PSA grading fee + return shipping (pass-through, no markup).

No Surprises: One charge today for our services, one invoice later for PSA grading + shipping.

Packaging Checklist (Quick)

  • Place each card in a protective plastic holder. Make sure to keep one card per holder.
  • Stack holders, add cardboard on both sides, and secure with a rubber band or painter’s tape (never tape on holders).
  • Wrap the bundle in bubble wrap; no movement in a gentle shake test.
  • Use a sturdy box or bubble mailer; fill voids with paper/peanuts/air pillows. Consider double-boxing for high value cards.
  • Include a note with Name, Email, Phone, Order #, Service Level.

Will I be charged at checkout?
Yes. You’ll pay the prep fee at checkout. You will receive an invoice for the PSA grading fee and return shipping after grading is complete.
How much is the prep fee?
Our fee depends on what level of preparation service you select. Our fee is $5/ card + optional one-time insurance that covers all cards included in your submission.
Do you add fees to the PSA price?
No. We pass through the exact PSA charges with no markup.
How long does the process take?
Timelines vary by PSA service level and volume. The difference in PSA pricing is determined solely on how quickly you want your cards graded. Keep in mind that the PSA turnaround time does not include our handling time.
